As We Wait…Heart-To-Heart

As We Wait…Heart-To-Heart

It seemed that the Coronavirus would not be as big a deal in America as it was in China and Italy since we are so health-conscious in the United States. Travel was banned from highly infected countries, which was a good move, but not enough to keep COVID-19 at bay.

Wondering, praying, and listening for the Lord, I began sensing a while back that God was going to use this time to create something good. Genesis 50:20 came to mind. Remember what Joseph said to his brothers? “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”

What the enemy meant to destroy lives as well as shutting down life as we know it … God will use for good. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” [Romans 8:28]

We have been praying for America to repent and for those who already know Him to be re-captivated by the Holy Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ. The days have become darker, more corrupt and evil and we can watch, hear and read about it in the daily news. As believers we have been reaching out and running the race marked out for each of us. I don’t know about you … but I’d hoped I would be accomplishing more than I am … especially by this age.

The Lord impressed me with this thought a couple of weeks ago, “take heart for I am using this time for My glory. The normalcy of everyday life cannot accomplish what I am going to achieve through My Church during this time of all life ceasing to function as you know it.”

Each and every day is an opportunity for us to be ‘boots-on-the-ground’ through which the Holy Spirit can live and move and use our being.

Acts 17:24-31

[1984 NIV]

“The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.  For in Him we live and move and have our  being.  As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are His offspring,’ “Therefore, since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone – an image made by man’s design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead.”

May your Secret Place become more precious to you than your public life has been. May you seek the Lord your God wholeheartedly … listening for and sensing His divine intervention in and through your life each day … for He has placed you where you are … for such a time as this. Be sure your neighbors do not go without.

Steve and I are praying for you, your health and strength, and for this time to be used wisely,
