Table Time Message from Pastor Steve and Roz

Good morning on this New Year’s Eve.  Roz and I are away for a few days celebrating our 52nd Anniversary!  Therefore, Table Time today is coming to you in written form from St. Augustine.  We have great hope and expectation as we launch into 2021.  Through all the challenges of 2020, God has truly blessed us in many ways, both individually and as the CCV Church Body.  We are thankful!

In times like these, we are seeing biblical prophecy fulfilled in dramatic ways.  It is important that we understand where we are going.  But to do that, we must also see where we have come from.  Many are plunging into the book of Revelation, which is an understandable thing for people who wonder, “What in the world is going on?”  However, what the Lord is laying on my heart for this coming year is to go in the opposite direction.

On January 10, we will begin a study through the book of Genesis.  It is only in seeing God’s intent, plan, and purpose from the beginning that we can be completely confident in our current state of affairs.  God started it all.  He sees it all now.  He will complete all he started in His Son Christ Jesus.

Genesis is as prophetic as any other book in the Bible, including Revelation.  That is because it all emanates from the heart, mind, and mouth of God.  Everything in scripture, history, time, and the future hinges on the powerful statement:  “In the beginning God.”

Therefore, I encourage you to begin ahead of time to read and meditate on Genesis.  The Sunday studies will be far more meaningful and life impacting if you will prepare at home for what God wants to say to us.

As you begin your new year, may your expectation be high, your faith be stable, your prayer life be consistent, your hunger for God be insatiable and your love be ever increasing.  Hang on … it is going to be an adventure!

Isaiah 45:3 “And I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places so that you may know that it is I, the God of Israel, Who calls you by your name.”

God Bless your 2021,

Pastor Steve and Roz
