From Pastor Steve’s Study:

In America and around the world, God has captured the attention of the followers of Jesus Christ.  Sometimes it takes a crisis in order to do that.  Our response?  To realize our neglected need, as His people who are called by His Name, to humble ourselves and fervently pray … to intentionally seek His Face and turn from our wicked, sinful, defensive, deceitful, hurtful ways … so that He will hear from heaven, remove the guilt of our sin [Psalm 32:5], and heal the condition of our nation.  [based on 2 Chronicles 7:14]

Eric Wigg has divided the areas around CCV to create locations near you where you can come together and pray with fellow believers during the month of August.  Some will be meeting homes, some at the church, some by Zoom, some over the phone.   If you have not chosen a place or signed up yet, you can contact Eric at   Eric will be sending out a guideline each week of items to include in prayer.

  • Prayer gatherings will last for only one hour
    • We request that no food be served
    • Rather than each one expressing their prayer requests … will everyone simply pray your request
    • Remember to pray for our President and our nation
  • To strengthen our prayers, we have the opportunity to humble ourselves and participate in a 21-Day Daniel Fast as a Church Body
    • The dates are August 9th – August 30th
    • August 30th will be CCV’s first day of worship at Temple Shalom
    • If you need to adjust for health reasons, you can still participate in some way such as
      • Refraining from something you normally do
      • Committing that time to pray instead
    • In addition to praying with your CCV Family, please make it a point to increase your daily times of prayer in your own home
      • That the whole Body of Christ will rise up in prayer and become the church God called us to be
      • That God will have mercy on our nation
      • That He will expose the darkness by His Light, so that deception will be revealed

Basically, the Daniel Fast consists of:

  • Vegetables
  • Fruits
  • Whole grains
  • Nuts and Seeds

Foods to be avoided

  • Meat
  • Dairy
  • Sweets
  • Processed foods [junk food]

“We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.  In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy Name.  May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in You.” [Psalm 33:20-22]

Unable To Leave House:

A new telephone prayer opportunity for Calvary Chapel Villages will debut on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. Those who wish to participate need only to enter “518-318-5410” at 6:30 PM to be automatically  connected to a one-hour prayer session. This feature is to encourage those that may not have regular computer access – but anyone is invited to call in. Initially these telephone prayer sessions will be held during the month of August, Wednesday evenings, at 6:30 PM. Unlike “dial-a-prayer” this will be interactive between all callers whom will be encouraged to share what is on their hearts.
