From Pastor Steve:

Jesus was about to feed the five thousand in John 6.  We read, “Jesus lifted up His eyes and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?’  But He said this to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.”

It is natural for us to ask God questions:

  • In times of uncertainty
  • In times when we do not understand what is happening
  • In times when we cannot see our way ahead

However, are we willing to let Him ask us questions in order to test us?  I believe that during this time of waiting He does have questions for us.  He wants to probe our hearts in order for us to:

  • See things differently
  • Move to new levels of faith
  • See Him work in mighty ways

As you pray and open His word, be open to the Spirit’s nudging to question:

  • Your motives
  • Your actions
  • Your words
  • Your direction

As we walk beyond this time, you just might see Him doing in you and through you what you never thought possible.  Philip and the other disciples did not expect to be used as God’s vessels in feeding five thousand people with two small fish and five small loaves of bread.
