From Pastor Steve’s Study:

Dearest Family,

This week I’d like to encourage you with something a little different.  The following is a song written by Hillsong.  Its words perfectly express today’s message.

As a Body, let’s meditate on the message in this song [sing it if you know the tune].

Refiner’s Fire

Purify my heart,

Let me be as gold and precious silver

Purify my heart

Let me be as gold … pure gold

Refiner’s Fire,

My heart’s one desire

Is to be holy … set apart for You, Lord

I want to be holy … set apart for You, my Master

Ready to do Your will

Purify my heart

Cleanse me from within and make me holy

Purify my heart

Cleanse me from my sin … deep within

Refiner’s Fire,

My heart’s one desire

Is to be holy … set apart for You, Lord

I want to be holy … set apart for You, my Master

Ready to do Your will

The Lord is at work among us.  Toward the end of the service I said something like … looking out at all of you I can tell none of you are mature yet! … and I quickly included myself!  Well, I have something to add to that.  As I look at your faces, I see that there is a growing hunger and thirst to be purified as gold and precious silver.  Many have been praying fervently, and God is answering our prayers.  He is building His Church according to His Plan.  We are forever grateful to You, Lord Jesus.

Missions Focus:  The Raynor Family – Church Planting in the Yucatan, Mexico

If you were in church yesterday you heard about this, but it’s well worth repeating.  After hearing of the plans for constructing a new church building on the recently purchased property in Motul, the CCV elders felt led to take $5000 dollars from the money we have set aside for our own future building and send to the Raynors for their building.

Steve has been talking about foundations in our study in Corinthians so it is really neat that the Raynors plan to use the money for the foundation for their new church.  They responded with the following words of thanksgiving:

What a blessing to hear. We are so grateful God has joined us in such a way. I want to share what this will be used for. As this is the first donation given to the sanctuary, what better place to use it than in the foundation. Of course, the cornerstone is always Christ, but I am honored, with the special bond our two churches share, and privileged to have you all share in such an important part as the foundation of this new church.

From everyone in Calvary Motul and us – we personally, thank you.

A Bit More About CCV:

  • AmazonSmile is a website operated by Amazon with the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. The difference is that when you shop on AmazonSmile, the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the charitable organization of your choice.
  • CCV Giving Is Facilitated In Two Ways:
    • One Calvary Chapel distinctive is that no offering plate is passed during service. There is a Tithe and Offering box located at the back of the sanctuary
  • Facilities – We are currently leasing the community center where we worship on Sundays. There is an “Expansion Fund” for CCV folks to give toward a future permanent facility. You may give by identifying your donation for this purpose on the envelopes (info table) or online.
  • Visit the new and updated CCV Website: www.ccvillages.org
