At the end of John 7, when many of Jesus’ disciples turned and walked with Him no more, He asked the twelve, “Do you also want to walk away?” Peter as usual, spoke up, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” Peter also stated that they believed and knew that He is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
In this time of quarantine while we have nowhere else to go, may it be our deepest conviction that we have no one else to go to but Jesus. When things open up again and we are free once more to come and go and, for those of us who know who He is, we still have no one else to go to. Right now, while you have extra time, make it your practice to run to Him. Later it will be more natural to run to Him with consistency. We need Him now. Be assured, we will need Him even more in the future.
Just a side note … on social media yesterday someone wrote … this year churches are empty on Easter ~ but so is the Grave! Isn’t that great!?
