From Pastor Steve’s Study:
In John 7:26, Jesus said, “But I know Him, for I am from Him.” In verse 33 he said, “I will be with you a little while longer and then I go to Him who sent me.”
On earth, Jesus lived in the security of knowing where He came from, Who He was, and where He was going. As we get it settled in our hearts, that because we know Jesus:
- We know where we came from
- We know who we are in Christ
- We know where we are going
- Immeasurable peace fills us
In knowing Him, we are aware that He has brought us from the bondage of sin. That was our beginning. Now we are guaranteed eternity with Him … where He went to prepare a place for us. Everything between where we came from and where we are going is to prepare us to go where He went. Even as Jesus stated, we are here only a little while longer.
If this time of quarantine has seemed boring or exhausting to you, it is good to step back, be still, and know that He is God. In doing so remember:
- How far you have come
- Where you have come from
- Where you are going
- And gain fresh perspective
